I spent my formative shopping years in small towns where Ben Franklin and S.S. Kresge, early Wal-Mart forerunners, were the main sources of fashion. The Sears’ and Penney’s catalogs were the windows on the world through which I’d occasionally catch of glimmer of as yet unexplored shopping horizons. College was spent in yet another small town poring over fashion magazines between disappointing forays into the tiny five-store “downtown.” Then I moved to Chicago and, finally, the exciting world of 5th Avenue style and runway high fashion was mine!
It was in Chicago that I first discovered Nordstrom. I still remember my first “Nordstrom experience.” The lustrous marble floors, the opulent displays, plush gray carpet that seemed to swallow my feet, looking down while riding the escalator and being amazed to see a pianist serenely seated at a baby grand, sales clerks that treated me like royalty. Even the bathrooms were elegant! It was the clothes, though, – and the shoes and the handbags — that catapulted me from my small town ways to the height of couture. Not all at once, mind you; it took a few years for my income to catch up to my dreams, but that day was the beginning.
I thought of that first experience last night when I noticed the Nordstrom coupons on Coupon Cactus. Right now on Coupon Cactus, you can save 60% or more when you shop Nordstrom’s online Winter Clearance Sale, plus 2% cash back for Coupon Cactus members. I stayed up late last night taking advantage of marvelous savings on all my favorite designers — and so much more! It was a nostalgic evening. All those year’s ago, I started my lifelong relationship with Nordstrom’s by shopping their clearance sales. With savings like these, maybe it’s time you had your own Nordstrom’s experience.
